Rupert Dixon / About

A bit about me and what I do…

I’m an experienced Director of UX/UI and Product Design, specialising in interface and visual design, with over a decade managing cross disciplinary design teams and almost two decades within the industry in total.

I manage the digital or product design process end-to-end, from UX deliverables (concept workshops, wireframes, prototypes, specifications and user testing) right through to highly polished, beautiful interfaces (including visual identity, design systems and styleguides). However, I still like to stay hands on and work on design challenges myself.

That means I can – using research and evidence based insight – help get your product, service, or software up and running, efficiently and create a visual design language that communicates your brand values and which delights and engages your users.

I have built design teams and successfully managed multiple teams in agencies and in-house, both onsite and remotely, establishing design processes and being the ‘design-thinking evangelist’ across organisations.

But all work and no play make Jack a dull boy…

In my spare time I hike, draw, sail, cook, make things, mend things, I watch things and chop things, and plenty of other things in between. I live in an area of outstanding natural beauty and my partner and I look after a very good boy – who needs constant walks, sticks and balls to be thrown and really dislikes squirrels.

Below is a bunch of stuff that is strictly non-work related….
